VINTAGE ANTIQUE 14K YELLOW GOLD RETRACTABLE MECHANICAL PENCIL.
This 14k yellow gold pencil was part of my mother’s personal antique pencil collection. It measures 2 3/4” and extends out to 4 1/8”. It’s stamped 14k and has the hallmark of Edward Todd & Co.
The gold pencil weighs approximately 10.5 grams on a food scale. That weight of course includes the lead.
The condition is beautiful! There are no dents, dings or scratches other than some light signs of gentle surface wear. There are a few dark spots which I leave for the buyer to clean.
The twisting mechanism for extending the lead works smoothly and effortlessly. The telescoping feature is snug and works well. I did not try to disassemble the pencil to look for lead storage or to see if there was an eraser, nor did I clean it.
