Description

This is a rare NSU 250cc OHC Supermax.  This the top of the line, more power than the Standard Max. Unique in the motorcycle world the engine features an overhead camshaft that is driven by eccentrics con rods.  They have a first class reputation for reliability and many were tuned for racing in their time. This bike was barn stored for many years and presents in original and very complete condition. Ideal for a straightforward restoration or use as is, it would certainly be a contender for the rusty/patina class!  Should get new tires and oil hoses and a good going over before extended use. It has outstanding torque and very nice power curve. The motor runs well without smoke or funny noises, the clutch, gears and brakes all work as do the headlight and horn.  Original items include new battery, ignition and toolbox keys. Has center stand as well as side stand.
